Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 December 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of loggit and its associated services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using loggit, whether as a customer reporting a lost item or as a venue managing found items, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, submitting a lost report, uploading photos, or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. About loggit

loggit is an AI-powered lost and found network that connects people who have lost items with venues that have found them. The Service uses artificial intelligence to:

  • Analyse photos of found items to automatically detect category, brand, model, colour, and other attributes
  • Match lost item reports with found items across our network of participating venues
  • Generate confidence scores and notify venues when potential matches are identified
  • Facilitate communication between venues and item owners

The Service is provided as a platform to assist with lost property management. We do not physically handle items, verify ownership, or guarantee successful reunions.

3. User Accounts and Eligibility

Customers: You may submit lost reports without creating an account. If you provide contact details, you must ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.

Venue Managers and Staff: You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to bind your venue to these Terms. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (including staff PIN codes) and for all activities under your account.

4. Acceptable Use and Prohibitions

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, truthful, and complete information when using the Service
  • Use the Service only for legitimate lost and found purposes
  • Cooperate with reasonable ownership verification requests from venues
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

You must not:

  • Submit false or fraudulent lost reports
  • Attempt to claim items that do not belong to you
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
  • Upload photos or content that violates third-party rights or contains illegal material
  • Access or attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorisation
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security features
  • Use the Service to send spam, unsolicited communications, or harassing messages
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission

5. AI Features and Photo Recognition

Our AI analyses photos to detect item attributes and generate descriptions. The AI provides suggestions to assist venues and improve matching accuracy, but:

  • AI predictions may not always be accurate - venue staff review and can edit all details before submission
  • Matching confidence scores are estimates based on available data and semantic analysis
  • Final decisions on matches and ownership verification rest with venue staff, not the AI
  • You grant us a licence to process uploaded photos using AI for these purposes

6. Lost Reports and Matching

Customers: When you submit a lost report, we use AI to search for potential matches across our network. If a potential match is found with sufficient confidence, we notify the relevant venue. The venue reviews the match and decides whether to contact you. We do not guarantee that:

  • Your item will be found or logged in our system
  • A match will be identified, even if your item has been found
  • A venue will contact you or agree to return an item
  • You will be reunited with your lost item

Venues: When you log a found item, our AI attempts to match it against existing lost reports. You are responsible for reviewing match suggestions, verifying ownership, and managing the return process according to your own policies and procedures.

7. Ownership Verification and Item Return

Venue Responsibility: Venues are solely responsible for verifying ownership before releasing items. loggit provides tools to assist this process but does not verify identity or ownership claims.

Customer Cooperation: You agree to provide reasonable verification information when collecting items (e.g., describing contents, unique features, lock screen details, proof of purchase, or providing ID for high-value items).

Return Process: All arrangements for collection times, locations, delivery, and any associated fees are between you and the venue. We are not involved in physical handover and do not mediate disputes about item condition, authenticity, or ownership.

8. Venue Outreach for Non-Registered Venues

If you report a lost item at a venue not yet registered with loggit, we may contact that venue on your behalf to enquire about your item. We cannot guarantee the venue will respond or cooperate with our request.

9. Photos and Content

By uploading photos or other content to the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have permission to upload the content
  • The content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws
  • The content does not contain personal data of individuals other than yourself (without their consent)

You grant loggit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, process, and display uploaded content for the purposes of providing the Service, including AI analysis and matching.

10. Fees and Payment (Venues)

Subscription: Venue access to the Service requires a paid monthly subscription (currently £22/month). Pricing, billing frequency, and payment methods are displayed during registration and in your account settings.

Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account dashboard, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the current billing period.

Customer Use: Lost item reporting is free for customers. Venues may charge fees for delivery or postage; these are separate arrangements between you and the venue.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, features, functionality, software, designs, text, graphics, and logos on the Service are owned by or licensed to loggit and are protected by UK and international intellectual property laws. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
  • Use our name, logo, or branding without written permission
  • Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices

12. Service Availability and Changes

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the entire Service at any time
  • Perform scheduled or emergency maintenance affecting availability
  • Update these Terms with notice where reasonable (the "Last updated" date will reflect changes)
  • Change pricing for future billing periods with advance notice

13. Account Termination and Suspension

By You: Venues may cancel subscriptions at any time through account settings. Customers may request deletion of their lost reports by contacting us.

By Us: We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you:

  • Breach these Terms or our policies
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Create security risks or harm the Service or other users
  • Fail to pay subscription fees (venues)

Upon termination, your right to access and use the Service ceases. Data retention follows our Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimers and No Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
  • Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Warranties regarding AI accuracy, matching success rates, or item recovery
  • Warranties that venues will verify ownership properly or return items appropriately

You acknowledge that use of the Service is at your own risk. We do not guarantee successful item recovery and are not responsible for venue actions or decisions.

15. Limitation of Liability

No Limitation on Certain Liabilities: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law

Subject to the above, to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities
  • We are not liable for lost, stolen, damaged, or unreturned items
  • We are not liable for venue actions or omissions, including improper ownership verification or item handling
  • We are not liable for failures or delays in matching, notifications, or communications
  • We are not liable for AI errors, inaccuracies, or matching failures
  • We are not responsible for disputes between customers and venues

Liability Cap: Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) £100, or (b) the amount you paid to us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless loggit, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your breach of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights
  • Content you upload to the Service
  • Disputes with venues or other users

17. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution: If you have a complaint, please contact us first using the details on this website. We will attempt to resolve disputes informally where possible.

Governing Law: These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Jurisdiction: You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for any disputes that cannot be resolved informally.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and loggit regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
